TOP 12 for 2012 posts (or something like that)
I have to be honest. I haven't done my 'year that was' entry.
I've chosen this entry to be my last post this 2012
since this is something very important for me.
I'm not who I am now without Him.
He has a name. Jesus :)

Someone asked me,
"Why bother to go far away when you can pray at the comforts of your own room?"
I just smiled and looked at him, then smiled again.
Well, he has a point. God is everywhere.
And everyone is free to pray wherever he may be; knowing full well that
God hears his prayer. At the end of the day, it's a matter of preference.
It's my 2nd time to go to Prayer Mountain
and it was such a refreshing experience.
Here are some details, just in case you want to experience...

Closer to Nature.
Place is surrounded by greens and blues.
Sunlight beams can be felt at your early morning devotion
and sitting around gazing at nowhere will put your mind at ease.
You can un-baggage yourself with the chaotic and complex world for once.
Just toooot. Shut up down. Keep Calm. Literally.
Living the Simple Life.
Going back to basic is one of the things we need to do every now and then.
We sometimes need to remind ourselves that the things we have are all borrowed.
Yet we sometimes act as if it's our birthright to live an extravagant life.
When you lie on a simple bed, with a simple pillow and a plain blanket,
you'll now ready to brush off trivial things in life and focus on more profound issues,
Food for the stomach? Or Stomach for the food?
Do you live to eat or do you eat to live?
These are some of the questions that confuse me till now.
Just as you need to be reacquainted with plain bedding,
your stomach needs to go back to basic too!
It's one thing to say,
"Oh, I care for the people who eat simple food every single day,"
"Oh, I care for the people who eat simple food every single day,"
and it's another to experience eating the same food they eat, yourself.
Upon munching the bland food and conversing with my throat not to gag-reflex,
I am starting to realize that without extreme food choices,
life can be much simpler. And yes, my mind is free
to think and commune with the Divine.
Meet me at Room #38. -God.
at this side of earth is one of my most important travels for this year, so far.
Being alone in a prayer cell is just surreal.
Not being bombarded by social media or
other mini-issues like food, clothes etc., as I read the Bible,
suddenly it makes more sense.
Words that I see are not just words but
it transcends a whole new meaning!
I've thought about my life. Past. Present. Future.
I am amazed beyond words on how God has been gracious to me.
As I leave Room #38...
As I leave room #38, I know I've been strengthened by His love.
Not by theoretical, dogmatic imprints but by the assurance that
nothing, no one can ever separate me from His love.
As I leave room #38, there are still questions left unanswered.
But it's as if I can hear the word from Jesus to his disciples
(context: Jesus told them he is the bread and whoever eat him
will live forever, of course the disciples were confused as ever).
On John 6:61, Jesus asked:
"Does this offend you?" "Do you also want to go away?"
Other version says "Does this make you want to give up?"
May we be like Peter that says,
"Lord, to whom would we go?
YOU have the words that give eternal life"
I, honestly, am still a work in progress.
After meeting God at Room #38,
I am glad I didn't cancel that important one on One.
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones! -CMK
