To have shares of stocks means you are technically a part owner of a specific company. This is a good investment vehicle to grow your money. Note that you have to conduct your due diligence (careful research) first before investing on anything.
Another feature of stock market investment is you can include this in your asset portfolio. Common example is when you need to apply for a visa (specially to first world countries). You have to satisfactorily show to the embassy that you have assets to finance your trip (or even as a cushion should anything happen to you abroad).
This is what this post is all about. In my case, I've been invested at COL Financial Philippines which is an online stock platform. This means that when I purchase say, PLDT shares - a physical stock certificate is not given to me. So, how can I ask for a copy of all the stock certificates? Here's how.
HOW TO REQUEST FOR STOCK CERTIFICATES
AT COL FINANCIAL?
2. Click on the link within the red box above.
3. Scan the copy of your signed form and email your request to stockcerts@colfinancial.com.
4. A duly signed PDF copy will be sent to your mail.
There's a transaction fee of Php 100. A notice of debit adjustment will be sent to you like below:
NOTES AND TIPS:
♣ To be sure, I have attached my PRC ID for identification purposes.♣ Next, I called their hotline and made them aware that I'm requesting such document.
♣ Important: Your stocks are stated at MARKET VALUE as of your request date.
♣ It's so nice of Mariz of COL (not sure on the spelling), she is so accommodating and prompt.
♣ Normally, lead time is 2-3 days. In my experience, everything is accomplished within 2 hours. Wow. That's customer service! Happy-ier client here!
Remember that while your money is invested in stocks, you can still use them as an asset proof. I'm not sure if there's any other instance this post will come handy (other than visa application requirement) - but to you my virtual friends out there... I hope this helps. -CMK

ReplyDeleteHi, Kristine, I'm new to stocks and I invest in Col Financial. For the Stock Certificates, are they going to send you just a pdf copy and not a sealed/stamped certificate by mail?
ReplyDeleteHi Mark, they usually send PDF copies. I think you can request for them to send it via post / you can pick it up personally from their office.
