2017 GOALS

There is something about 'new' that keeps us hopeful. New year is on top of the list. What is the difference between 2016 and 2017? It's a shift of a second between 11:59 pm and 12:00 am on new year's eve. Yet, it makes a world of difference to us people. I am happy that we have an agreed reset button. Something that helps us to believe that tomorrow is a new day and we can improve our lives if we put our hearts to it.

"The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals." Melody Beattie

It makes me sad when people lose hope on new year's resolution. What's so wrong with setting another goal? You'll probably heard someone saying that by the end of January, all of these goals walk out the door. Instead of talking yourself out of it, why not try it one more time. I guess that's what life is all about. Getting up every morning and trying life again. One day at a time.

HEALTH
2016 has been such a revelation to me. I thought I was eating healthy. I was wrong. I realised I can be kinder and give back to my body some more. It's February as of this writing and I'm happy to report that I'm still sticking with my plan. Goal is a cliche but I'll say it anyway. Be active (i.e. go to the gym) at least 4x a week and eat more veggies. I want to track my macros more diligently too. (“Macro” is short for “macronutrient ratios” and in bodybuilding it means one of three nutritional pigeonholes: protein, carbohydrate and fat. "If you want to lose weight, regulate your carbohydrate intake..." got this one from Gab). Recently, I'm surprised that after I ate watermelon, I don't have any intense craving for chocolates. I got my health report last week and it's amazing. I got a healthy cholesterol and blood sugar. My point for improvement is hydration though. I tend to forget to drink more water (hello healthy skin!) and so I need to put more effort to chug more H20. Mean time, can we all appreciate my version of sweet potato fries, please?

RELATIONSHIPS
And by this, I meant romantic, parental, friendly relationships. I'd like to spend more time with mum soon and meet my friends here in London. When you already have a special someone, that relationship becomes the priority. I am really thankful that finally, I have someone to spend my life with. I am very grateful on how GOD answers prayers. However, that's not to say that you forget all your other relationships. TIME is very important. Ask yourself this question:

"I may have watches but do I have time?"

Lest we forget, our time is limited. And we have the power to decide on how we spend this currency. So the next time you are planning what to do and whom to spend with your weekend, choose wisely.

FINANCES
I put my finance goals in the back burner last year. I got stuff to do and I didn't put much attention to this. However this year, my goal is to try (operative word) some interesting stuff, and I'll take it from there.

TRAVEL
I'd like to visit new places in Europe this year. No specific countries yet but I have Berlin, Germany and Reykjavik, Iceland in mind. There are some discussions going on to visit Morocco soon, so that's another travel feat!

CAREER
I have been blessed with a job that gets me excited every morning. It allows me to do what I want to do and so much more. My colleagues and boss are pretty awesome too! I got my certification last year so that's good. This year, my goal is to expand my product knowledge and have a good, quality relationships with as many clients as possible. -CMK
