This smoothie has been my breakfast obsession lately. I am so happy to report that I am shedding pounds slowly but surely with a very good note: I am still enjoying healthy treats like this one. I have tried to intentionally cut down sugar & carbs first week of April and girl, it was hard! But that's another story. Going back to this yummy breakfast, here are some few ingredients you need:
Frozen berries. I used strawberries and blueberries. Tip: Put them on the freezer the night before so it'll be ready to go come morning. Banana. Peanut Butter (any variant would do but if you're curious on the above it's basically a powdered PB. You put 2 tablespoons of it and dilute it onto 1 tablespoon of water, mix it until thick and there you have it. Yogurt (As I'd like to be dairy free as much as possible, I picked the soya one). You can add any toppings your heart desires.
Put all the berries with a little bit of water into your blender (I use Nutribullet). Once thick, add the PB and yogurt and banana. Blend it some more and pour it over a bowl. For toppings, I put desiccated coconut, raspberries and blueberries and some hazelnut spread for my chocolate fix. This meal has full of anti-oxidants from the berries (hello great skin!) and good carbs as well. It is unbelievable easy to whip up and so filling as well. It lasts me up to 2.5 hours of being full. Very good alternative to breakfast cereals in my opinion. For more food inspiration, come and say hi to yours truly on instagram. Handle is @callmekristineanne. See you! -CMK
