DINING ON TOP OF 30 ST. MARY AXE BUILDING (THE GHERKIN)

Last summer in Croatia, I finally got engaged! The nerd in me wanted to go full on with the wedding preparation after the euphoria has passed. However, Gab suggested that it's probably a good idea to a) revel in the bliss for a while without stressing about a million things to do and b) schedule the wedding on our own terms (read: more than 12 months since we got engaged). At first, I didn't know how to react but as I mulled over the idea, I realised he's got a point. That definitely made sense! I'm happy that we agreed to go down that route. Fast forward five months from that conversation, we set the valentine weekend of February as our official wedding planning date.

Anyway.

In the spirit of feminism (like, why is it that women are only the ones who get pampered during February?), I decided to book a dinner for Gab and myself early this month. I appreciate that February is usually the month that ladies get roses, chocolates and all the good stuff but I think it's equally important to make our other halves feel they are valued as well. Gherkin is one of the most recognisable landmarks in London and knowing how Gab likes buildings (he's a structural designer), I'm thrilled just by thinking about how he'll love it.

The whole experience is just amazing. The food was delicious, we had a good dinner near the window, on top of the building no less. I'll leave you with the pictures and let it do the talking. I hope you're having a good time as you read this! -CMK
