This year, we made a conscious decision of exploring England more than we usually do instead of visiting other European countries. We are doing just that! We've been to Brighton three times as of this writing and last weekend, we visited Cornwall. The county is very calming and beaming with beautiful sceneries. One of the coolest thing is we have been at Land's end (this is the most westerly point of England). Sunset at Land's End is breathtaking.
We went and stayed for two nights at YHA Eden Project. It's quite an experience. You won't run out of food to try at Cornwall. We ate fudge, Cornish pasty, ice cream among many others. I particularly liked Fowey (pronounced as Foy, like joy) because of its amazing sea side views and ports. We trekked one lighthouse at Polperro and though it's exhausting, it's worth it in the end (see first picture above).
We went here from London Paddington to Plymouth. We rented a car and drove from Plymouth to Cornwall. Our first stop was the Eden project and we enjoyed the two biomes namely, Mediterranean and Tropical (very humid, FYI!). It's such a good feeling to be embraced by nature. Everywhere you look there are trees and sands and all things natural. Expect loads of driving especially if you wish to visit the Land's End. Three days of exploring and we were ready to head back to our everyday lives. It's not too bad - I think that's the beauty of not hating your regular routine. You don't dread coming back to it. I'm happy that we took this time (since it's the last leg of the summer) to bond outside and re-energise ourselves. -CMK
